What are METs?

MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) is a standardized way to measure the energy cost of physical activities. One MET equals the energy you use while sitting quietly, which is about 1 calorie per kilogram of body weight per hour. Activities with higher MET values burn more calories.

How It's Calculated

Our calculator uses the scientifically-validated formula: Calories = MET × 3.5 × weight(kg) / 200 × duration(minutes). This formula accounts for your body weight, the intensity of the activity (MET value), and how long you performed it, giving you accurate calorie burn estimates.
